The Summer Trails Traditional Camp Program for campers in Preschool through 9th grade and is the definition of fun! We continue to create new opportunities for our campers to stay involved, have fun with friends, and experience camp to its fullest.
Activities include group sports, creative arts activities, swimming, and unique games that encourage children to express themselves as individuals. Our program is altered daily to emphasize maximum participation and bundles of fun while catering to each group’s dynamics as well as the daily weather. Each and every day at camp is unique and special.
Our mature, caring, and skilled staff provides campers with an environment that allows them to feel challenged and grow.
Our equipment and programming is diverse in order to be developmentally age appropriate for each child’s skill level, emotional ability, and physical strengths.
Since 1974, our activity areas at camp have continuously been upgraded to incorporate the newest developments in recreational programming. Summer Trails is proud of the superb quality of our buildings, fields, and courts while maintaining a traditional campground atmosphere. Our unique facility allows for maximum participation and instruction while supporting Summer Trails’ philosophies.
Our Preschool program is for campers in Preschool and Kindergarten. We place emphasis on social and physical growth as well as development of each young camper through the use of recognized early childhood educational techniques.
We create a unique nurturing feeling in this age group through a combination of a high camper to staff ratio and carefully selected mature staff. Campers are exposed to the wide variety of programs Summer Trails offers in a developmentally appropriate manner.

Leadership in Training Program
Summer Trails offers a Leadership in Training Program (LIT) to campers in 9th grade who have previously been Summer Trails campers.
This program has 3 focal points:
1) leadership training
2) working hands on assisting with a camper group and
3) the opportunity to play.
This program is specifically designed to provide an enriching leadership opportunity while balancing good old camp fun with a chance to demonstrate responsibility. These campers complete the program feeling prepared to be Summer Trails Interns the following summer.
The program is part camper and part big brother to a younger group. A little about the Intern Program... Started in the summer of 2019. This program is designed as an opportunity for campers entering 10th grade (or 15 years old) to put into practice and grow the leadership skills they were exposed to as an LIT the previous summer. The Intern Program will act as a bridge between being an LIT and the demands of being a Camp Counselor or Baseball Coach.
As interns they will earn 20 hours per week community service credits, contribute to an internship project, have the opportunity to earn Red Cross certifications, Program is a balance of educational and recreational opportunities, as well as, community service partnerships. Both a Camper Registration (from your parents to secure the dates) and Intern Application from you to begin the interview process) are next steps.
