We have three distinct programs; Pre-school, Traditional Camp, and Baseball Camp. The Pre-school program is for 3-5 year olds ready to play and explore. It features small groups and developmentally appropriate exciting activities. Our Traditional Camp program is for 6-14 year olds and is made up of a fun-filled diversified schedule of athletics, swimming, crafts, and skill enhancing activities. Our Baseball Camp Program is for children 8-13 who have a passion for sport and an enthusiasm for the ball field. It features specialized top-notch training and skill development while maintaining a fun-filled learning environment.

How long is the camp season?
Camp runs for 8 fantastic weeks from the end of June until the middle of August. Your child can be enrolled for a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 week session. Our Pre-school program accepts full and half day campers. Regardless of the program length you desire, the Summer Trails Camp experience is not to be missed!

Who will supervise my child?
All of our counseling staff members at Summer Trails are "hand-picked" on the basis of maturity, sensitivity, leadership ability, and a true desire to impact the life of a child. Our super cool staff are ready each morning to greet our campers with a big smile. We believe in providing adult supervision of our campers and therefore over half of our staff are over the age of 21.

Where are you located?
We are located on Mahopac Ave in Granite Springs, a hamlet of Somers in Westchester County.

What is the facility like?
Summer Trails is operated on 20 privately owned sprawling acres. We have two heated swimming pools in our aquatics complex, a picturesque pond full of adventure and wildlife, challenging vertical and horizontal climbing walls, a newly updated playground, five indoor facilities, as well as numerous fields, courts, and crafts areas.

What is a typical day like?
The day is made up of 35-40 minute exciting activity periods alternating between high energy active programs and creative quiet programs facilitated by quality staff, in order to build skills, self esteem and experience some good ol fashioned fun.

Will my child swim at camp?
Summer Trails has two heated swimming pools and campers are scheduled for both an instructional swim (a great opportunity to get comfortable in the water, perfect a stroke, or learn how to dive) and a recreational swim ( a chance to splash around with your friends) daily. We run the American Red Cross certified swim program.

Are there any special event days at camp?
Everyday at camp is special. We have theme days such as Teddy Bear Day, Yad Sdrawkcab and Olympics Day. Additionally we bring in fabulous professional entertainers such as Beth & Scott & Friends, the Hollyrock Game Show, Steve Max: Simon Says - just to name a few.

What happens when it rains?
We are prepared to have fun even during a little liquid sunshine. Third graders and older may leave property while our younger campers remain on site in our indoor facilities and tents. Our specialty counselors (music, dance, drama, project adventure, etc) are ready to run "delicious" activities whether it be on our site or off property. In the event that we need to close camp for the day, have a delayed arrival or early dismissal, camp families will be notified by email, text and phone call.

How will I know what is going on at camp?
There are several ways we will be in contact. Our website is updated throughout each day and is a great way to see pictures of your child and stay up-to-date on upcoming events. Your child's Group Leader will be your primary contact during the summer. We also want you to feel free to call or email us anytime! We love to hear from you and to talk about your child.

Do you provide camp transportation?
We provide centralized shuttle service to and from several towns (Briarcliff, Somers, Yorktown, Chappaqua, Mount Kisco, Armonk, Pleasantville and Thornwood) Please call to discuss this option with us. Many of our camp families drop off and pick up their child at camp daily.

How long is the camp day?
Our stimulating and exhilarating camp day runs from 9am to 3:45 pm. Pick up begins at 4pm. Additionally we offer extended hours; in the morning from 7:30 to 9 am and in the afternoon from 4 to 6:30 pm. Your child will wish the camp day never ended!

Is there health care at camp?
We have two highly qualified Registered Nurses at camp each day. They take care of all health needs with lots of Tender Loving Care. If your child has a specific health concern or allergy please contact our office to discuss how we can best accommodate your child.

Is Summer Trails ACA accredited?
Summer Trails is proud to have been accredited be the American Camp Association since 1974. Camps accredited by the ACA must meet standards above and beyond those imposed by local and state authorities. Less than one in four camps ever join the circle of ACA accredited camps. ACA camps aim to provide a meaningful experience for every child.
